Who we are
TPLPI is led by young people who understand the stakes because we live them. We are not speaking on behalf of communities—we are organising from within them.
We work with and alongside Young people irrespective of gender, race, sexual identity, class, disability, and religion Our leadership model is grounded in power shift. Young people, who are most impacted by systemic exclusion, shape our priorities, strategies, and direction, and we practice community governance.
We are guided by intersectional analysis. We recognise that oppression operates across gender, sexuality, class, disability, health status, and social norms. Our work addresses these intersections, not as separate issues, but as interconnected realities. We remain independent of religious and party-political control. Our accountability is first to the communities we organise with.
Thematic Areas
If you are interested in what we do, then you need to see what we focus on.
Bodily Autonomy & Reproductive Justice
We advocate for the right of young people to make informed choices about their bodies. We amplify consent, safety, and dignity, and we confront the barriers (including restrictive systems) that keep young women and marginalised youth from the SRHR support they deserve.
Climate and environmental Justice
We organise to ensure youth are not excluded from environmental decision-making. By connecting climate realities to health, economic justice, and community resilience, we amplify youth voices and advocate for equitable policies and sustainable solutions.
Safe Spaces & Collective Care
We support community-led care because we recognise that mental well-being is influenced by individual experiences and lived realities. From support conversations to referral pathways and crisis help, we build spaces where young people are heard—not judged—and where healing fuels resistance.
Economic Justice & Youth Power
We empower young people to build income, skills, and support so they can gain independence and become resilient in the future. We connect learning, mentorship, and opportunity to real-life safety and self-determination.
HIV Justice & Liberation
We organise for stigma-free, affirming HIV prevention and care—so young people can access PrEP/PEP and treatment support without shame, fear, or judgement. We build peer power, community support circles, and pathways to friendly providers—because survival should never depend on silence.
Rights Defence & Community Protection
Everyone has rights, and their dignity is essential, and we stand together, advocating for fair treatment, equal opportunities, and respect for all, especially those who are often at the margins.
Narrative Change & Community Knowledge
We don’t just collect data—we build truth. Our community leads research and monitoring, and we turn lived experience into evidence, stories, policies and public pressure that moves power.
Digital Innovation
We use digital tools to expand access, safety, and rights—meeting young people where they are and turning online space into a site of organising, learning, and solidarity. We advocate for innovative approaches and strategies that leverage digital tools to provide services, education, and support.
